April Lozada

I've been there, so I understand.

I made it, and you can too.

It's been a real challenge for me to balance family and personal life while also holding down a full-time beauty business. It's not uncommon for Beauty Pros to put others before themselves, which can lead to stress and burnout.

I'm no exception. I didn't take care of myself at first and sacrificed too much for my business and others around me. Learn from my mistakes and discover the most important lessons I've learned on my journey.

My Story

I always knew from age 8 that I wanted to be a hairstylist. I worked my way through hair school straight out of high school and spent my first years behind the chair working at toxic salons. After 8 frustrating years, I left the industry completely.

Two years later, I decided to come back and start my own business. My number one goal was to build my clientele, so I had zero boundaries. I said yes to every single client, worked nights and weekends, and allowed too many clients to violate my personal emotional boundaries. This led to isolation, overwhelm and eventually illness.

After suffering from debilitating skin allergies, chronic reflux and stomach ulcers due to stress, chronic neck, back, arm, hip, and knee pain and chronic anxiety and depression, I almost left the industry AGAIN. Instead, I decided to do a complete overhaul on myself and my business.

I learned how to put myself first. I prioritized exercise, nutrition and rest. In order to have a social life, I stopped offering night and weekend appointments. I raised my prices in order to let go of clients who stressed me out. I communicated my boundaries very clearly to the rest of my clients. I implemented systems in my business to make my life easier. I also became very firm with boundaries in my personal life.

Today, I have a thriving six figure salon business that allows me to live in my dream home, travel the world and most importantly, maintain a fulfilling, joyful and HEALTHY lifestyle.

YOU, my friend, have the power within you to do the same.

My purpose in life is to give back to my industry and help stylists live healthier, more prosperous lives, while doing what they love and adding more longevity to their careers or businesses. I am committed to giving back to my industry with a servant heart and a strong foundational knowledge as a Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

Do you feel isolated, exhausted, and/or overwhelmed? Do you want to have more energy behind the chair and in your social life? Please know you are not alone. I have been there. If you are looking for someone who understands your struggles and is prepared to help, set up a FREE consultation with me today.
